Dr. Nasr Farīd Wāsil, former Muftī of Egypt, stated to al-Watan that reconciliation with the Muslim Brotherhood is not permitted. He added that this is due to their actions including violence, carrying arms, terrorizing the innocent and destroying the nation. He added that those who kill and detonate bombs are “criminals against the homeland and should not have the right to live on its territory” and that the Qu’rānic term “corruptors of the land” (al-mufsidūn fī al-ard) applies to them.
