In a horrific massacre between the families of the Nubian Dābūdiah family and the Bani Hilāl tribes in Aswan left 22 dead mostly from the Banī Hilāl and 32 injured, some of which are in a critical condition. Ten houses got burnt. Mustafá Yusrī, the governor of Aswan, and General Hassan al- Suhājy, security director, have called for the intervention of the armed forces. The Ministry of Interior issued on Saturday April 5 that the fight erupted after the harassment of a girl. This led both sides to write negative statements about the other on the walls. During a reconciliation session between both sides in Gharb al-Sayl tensions were reignited which led to the death of four people in the exchange of gunfire. The ministry stated that the security forces are working to bring together community leaders in a reconciliation session. (Abd Allah Mashāllī, al- Watan, April 6, p. 1). Read original text in Arabic.
