Zākhar: The Church needs a thought revolution

Kamāl Zākhar, the Coptic Coordinator for Secular Trends, said that the Church needs to have a thought revolution in order to return to original discourse and the aim of the Coptic Church. Speaking on the T.V. program “Egypt in an Hour,” he emphasized the need for legislation concerning civil marriage for Egyptian Christians. This issue is made more complex by the Catholic Church’s refusal to accept divorce when the Coptic Church allows for divorce in the case of adultery.
