Ahmed Tatawi, a wealthy young Egyptian, speaks in this interview about the economic situation of the Egyptian people, inequality and the economic background of the country. He also speaks of interesting events he experienced. Ahmed Tatawi lived in six countries and currently resides in Saudi Arabia.
Ahmed Tatawi is aware that many Egyptians are dissatisfied with their lives. Cairo is characterized by the irregularity of the buildings stuck in the irregular structure of the city and the dense smog and dirt in the city. But the main reason for being dissatisfied is income inequality. According to many writers dealing with this subject, the disorder and neglect of the city is directly proportional to the poverty rate and income inequality, which is frequently encountered especially in third world countries.
Many of the wealthy Egyptians live in compounds. This puts an obstacle to the enrichment of the poor in the country, while allowing the rich to become more and more powerful. They are sharing their profits among a select group of partners which makes it very hard for local people to benefit from this.
For many Egyptians this is the natural order of things. I wanted to know why so many Egyptians do not question this and interviewed Ahmed Tatawi, the son of an Egyptian businessman, about Egypt’s economy from the perspective of a wealthy young man. Despite the age of 25, Ahmed has an interesting life story.
