On

August 2, 1997 the L.A Times published an alleged claim of Christians being tortured in Pakistan,

but at the

same time, nothing was mentioned about the confirmed massacres perpetrated daily by Israel,

protected by the right

of veto. On August 14, 1997, the same newspaper published an article entitled "The

suffering of the Christians in

the Middle East," in which writer John Dennis Zevshi has drawn a horrible

picture of Christians who are being

raped, blackmailed and tortured. The author argues that Egypt has given

for more to Christianity than the U.S. and

argues that even Egyptian Copts reject the interference of the US

in Egyptian domestic issues.
