Terrorists have changed their strategies after the precautionary measures taken by world countries in airports and on board of planes following the September 11 attacks. Terrorist operations now target trains and train stations, where a massive number of people crowd, especially during rush hour. The incident signals a new pattern for terrorist organizations.


Following the September 11 attacks, the United States has used the “flying marshal” system on board of its planes. Recently, Britain decided to provide its trains with an armed man who it called “the train marshal,” following the Madrid bombings.
