We can rest assured to consider the recent fatwa issued by the Egyptian Dar Al-Ifta [Fatwa-giving House] rendering haram [unlawful according to Shari’a] the practice of the yoga sport as one of the most serious during the past few years. This fatwa inspires an attitude of close-mindedness towards other cultures and indicates that whoever gave that opinion did not bother inquiring about the core of a spiritual sport like yoga.
