While refusing to comment on the Bishop Bīshūy controversy, businessman Najīb Sawīris harshly criticized Dr. Muhammad Selīm Al-^cAwā whose articles for Al-Masrī Al-Yawm Newspaper were discontinued. Sawīris denied having anything to do with the decisión, which he claims is purely up to the editorial staff. He added that Al^cAwā is seeking personal glory at the expense of national unity.
