President Mubarak resigned today. We have witnessed much of the events leading up to his resignation showing that reporting in the West provided a biased image. Images of Tahrir Square dominated most media since January 25 but little was reported about other parts of the country.

 

Foreigners started leaving Egypt en-masse, but we experienced that not all of Egypt was dangerous. Our Dutch/Belgian group visiting Egypt came to see the route of the Holy Family; saw part of this but also saw the turmoil in Egypt unfolding while we were traveling through Egypt. This report focuses on discussions on Muslim-Christian dialogue as well as the tensions that developed rapidly during the days we were traveling around.
